Our clients face many challenges day-to-day and having the ability to quickly and clearly explain the services that they offer is very important in driving their companies forward. One of the many approaches available is the medium of film! By that we don’t mean Oscar nominated, special effect filled blockbusters (although an Oscar would look nice on our shelf), but engaging and effective films that allows your clients to visualise your company’s approach quickly and also meet the team and personalities behind the work.
After working with Trimline to conduct a Strategic Brand Review back in 2012, and after helping them revitalise their whole brand, they needed support in producing a series of four short, informative films about their business. We sat down with the senior team and mapped out a full filming schedule and then grabbed our cameras, tripods and make-up case and headed down to their Southampton base for three days of filming. Arriving one week before Christmas and putting aside the thoughts of turkey and mulled wine, we were ready to shout “lights, camera, action”.
Our filming ranged from interviews with the senior team, to walking around the office and factory floor speaking to all members of the team and capturing them ‘in action’. Along with interviewing Gary and Mike Oliver (Managing Director and Sales and Marketing Director), we also sat down and interviewed their parents, Reg and Audrey Oliver. Trimline is a family run business and being able to capture how the company started and how Gary and Mike grew their careers with the company was really insightful. (Both had joined young and made many cups of tea on the way up).
After clearing the cutting room floor and splicing the vast amounts of footage together, we raised the curtain on four films that are helping Trimline push forward and improve their communications.
