A great new pub has opened its doors within walking distance of our studio. Drinking haunts don’t usually feature on our blog, but we felt that the new Star & Garter deserved a special mention. Beyond its complete renovation, the pub has overhauled its catering service and provided a personal touch like no other. Taken over by the gastro pub chain ‘The Peach Pub Company’, the opening of the Star & Garter was eagerly anticipated, plugging an obvious gap within the Leamington Spa restaurant market. But what is it that makes people come back after the excitement of opening night?
Rebecca had signed up to the pub’s ‘My Place’ membership club and a small confusion over her membership card prompted a simple enquiry email to the Star & Garter team. Within the hour, we had an email response, followed shortly afterwards by a phone call from a member of the team. The next day, we had our membership cards hand-delivered to our studio by a very amiable member of the pub’s team, Tom, who stayed for a chat to find out a little about us and what we do! What service!!
The Star & Garter has caused a bit of a buzz but it’s certainly not just about the food, the prices or the name above the door; it’s about the people and the experience! Its people are its best brand advocates. It’s the personable touch that makes you feel truly valued as a customer, and it’s the human experience that makes you want to go back (which we have done). The pub has a genuine interest in finding out who its customers are and building a very real community, establishing itself and its reputation organically in the local area.
We have been so impressed with the pub’s whole approach! It’s humble, natural and warm and truly a place where you can feel completely at ease. Add to the mix great food … and you have one well and truly satisfied (and stuffed) regular!
